2015/16 La Liga Season Preview – Mid Table

La Liga 2015/16 Season Mid Table Finish

Many have accused La Liga of not being competitive enough but with the likes of Málaga, Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano all making drastic improvements over the past few years, the Spanish top flight is as tough as any other league in the world.

Malaga’s (41.00 to finish top four at Bet365) days of mindless spending seem to be all but over and the club have become more cautious in the transfer market in recent years, which is actually a good thing.

While fans may not be treated to Champions League football anytime soon, Malaga are more stable at the moment and Javi Gracia’s men should be aiming for another top half finish.

Espanyol (11.00 to be relegated at Bet365) have managed to remain a solid team in La Liga and while the Barcelona club have spent peanuts in the transfer market, they should be able to stave off any fears of relegation due to their experienced squad.

Similarly to Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano (9.00 to be relegated at Bet365) have managed to establish themselves as a strong La Liga side since their promotion back in 2011 and one will again expect Paco’s side to push for a top half finish this season.

Levante (2.20 to be relegated at Bet365) did not enjoy the best of seasons last term after managing only 37 points but following a year of experience under his belt, Lucas Alcaraz will now be expected to guide his side to a respectable mid table finish this season and perhaps even a good run in the Copa del Rey.

Even Getafe (3.50 to be relegated at Bet365) were bit of a disappointment last season after managing a 15th place finish and the club have decided to appoint Fran Escribá has the new manager this summer.

Escribá has proven his credentials with financially stricken Elche last season and the 50-year old is expected to do well with Getafe this term as well.
